{"id":10876,"date":"2020-10-03T14:19:35","date_gmt":"2020-10-03T14:19:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ndarason.com\/?p=10876"},"modified":"2022-11-15T10:53:16","modified_gmt":"2022-11-15T09:53:16","slug":"food-agriculture-nigeria-borno-rni-floods-rains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ndarason.com\/en\/food-agriculture-nigeria-borno-rni-floods-rains\/","title":{"rendered":"Bumper Harvest Expected"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Farmers in Maiduguri Borno State northeast, Nigeria expect a bumper harvest as the rainy season is about to end the region.<\/p>\n<p>The farmers have expressed delight over the abundant rainfall being witnessed in most parts of Nigeria, saying this may be a sign of a bumper harvest across the country.<\/p>\n<p>Modu Ngwami Ajiri is a farmer, and while speaking to our reporter Fatima Grema Modu, he said he is happy because the crops are in good condition and at the end of the season he expects a bumper harvest.<\/p>\n<p>Falta Maibe another farmer is also counting on a bumper harvest this year. She said, this will lead to a crash in the prices of food in the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFloods destroyed some of our crops, especially okra and sesame, but corn, maize and millets are not affected\u201d added, Falmata.<\/p>\n<p>No less than 25 people lost their lives while 17 others sustained injuries as a result of flood in Bauchi state, northeast, Nigeria last week.<\/p>\n<p>The governor of the state stated this when he received a delegation of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA led by the director-general, Air Vice Marshal Muhammad A.
