Suspected Boko Haram insurgents killed two and injured six, mostly women and children in Mungle town Damboa Local Government Area, Borno, on Wednesday. This comes only two days after insurgents killed fourteen farmers by slashing their throats in Mafa, and three days after they killed two people in Kauji town, both also in Borno state.<\/p>\n
Lawan Kolo, a resident of Mungle, whose three year old son was among the injured, said the attackers stormed the village at 12:30 pm while people were returning home from their farms.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know their exact number, they came on bike and trucks and were shooting sporadically. I left my family and ran when I heard the gunshots, later I was told that my son was injured.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere are no security personnel in Mungle,\u201d Kolo continued, \u201cbut later \u00a0members of the Civilian Joint Task Force and local Hunters came to our rescue – and they performed well.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think they were looking for food, normally the rate of attacks increases at this time of harvest every year\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t really know if my son will survive. He was brought to the hospital on a cart and he bled too much on the process,\u201d said Kolo.<\/p>\n
