Elders from the Northern region have accused the Federal Government of neglecting Borno State capital, Maiduguri, which has been without power from the national grid for 10 months. Daily Trust had reported how suspected members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters destroyed several electricity power lines, thereby cutting off Maiduguri metropolis. The setback came barely one month after the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) commenced the building of a gas plant to provide electricity to the state in the North East sub-region. Reacting to the continued outage shortly after a meeting led by its chairman, Ango Abdullahi, the elders under the aegis of Northern Elders Forum (NEF), asked the government to reverse the situation at all cost. In a communique issued at the end of the meeting which was signed by its spokesman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, they also berated President Buhari-led government over worsening security situation in the country.<\/p>\n

Governor Babagana Zulum had just recently visited the town to officially receive refugees and return them to their liberated ancestral communities. The governor had to fly into the town while some members of his entourage made nearly a dozen hours detour into parts of Niger Republic before getting to the town. Malamfatori is said to be the headquarters of Boko Haram Shura Council, hence it is considered the strongest base of Boko Haram. Sources said the \u2018general area\u2019 is under the control of ISWAP.<\/p>\n

At least five travellers were confirmed missing after terrorists believed to be members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) waylaid and forcefully took away travellers in three vehicles along the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway on Tuesday, Nov.\u00a0 2, 2021.\u00a0Sources familiar with the incident said that their vehicles were intercepted at TamsuKawu village of Kaga local government area (LGA) when they were heading to Maiduguri,\u00a0Northeast Nigeria<\/a>\u00a0around 3 p.m. WAT. HumAngle understands that the travellers ran into a fake military checkpoint mounted by ISWAP fighters near TamsuKawu, a village about 100km away from Maiduguri.\u00a0\u201cThree of the vehicles were forced to drive into the bush at gunpoint before the Boko Haram gunmen later selected five passengers whom they took away while the others and the three vehicles were later released,\u201d a senior police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity hinted.\u00a0A local vigilante source informed HumAngle that the recent attacks along Maiduguri-Damaturu road were led by a ruthless terror commander, Abu Asmau, who was known for his vicious style of attacks.<\/p>\n

An attack by suspected jihadists killed 10 people in the north of Burkina Faso near the Niger border, according to military officials, while four others were kidnapped. The killings, called \u201cexecutions\u201d by the military official, who declined to be named, took place on Monday around the village of Dambam as people were heading to market. Another official told AFP newswire “most of the victims were murdered in a cowardly manner, their throats slit” and vehicle set on fire. Authorities in the area said that armed groups have been making their way at the end of October into a number of communities in the restive tri-border region that contains Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali. Markoye is in this area, on the Burkinab\u00e9 side, host of a popular livestock market on Mondays. Armed groups had already kidnapped a number of people, stole livestock, and looted communities, according to the official. This attack is just the latest in an ongoing cycle of violence since the insurgency in neighbouring Mali traveled past Burkina Faso\u2019s borders in 2015. Last August, 30 people were killed in attacks around the Markoye area, including 11 civilians, 15 soldiers and four army colleagues.<\/p>\n

The Nigerian Army and a large number of gunmen, suspected to be Boko Haram members, engaged in a gun duel on Friday after the assailants attacked Pandogari Community in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State. According to Sun, the gunmen, who were about 100, stormed the community on motorcycles, where each motorcycle was reportedly carrying three armed men. Scores of them were reportedly killed during the gun battle. It was learnt that they had intended to carry out their usual crime of killing, maiming, and kidnapping but they met resistance from the local vigilantes and personnel of the Nigerian Army. It was gathered that the gunmen were suspected to be part of those fleeing Zamfara and Katsina states due to the military operations going there. They were said to have invaded the town at about 6pm on Friday, and made their way to the military base in an attempt to sack the soldiers.<\/p>\n

Le don a \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9ceptionn\u00e9 le 28 octobre 2021. La cl\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 remise s\u00e9ance tenante par les autorit\u00e9s sanitaires. L\u2019ambulance est constitu\u00e9e de ses \u00e9quipements et accessoires. Par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire du HCR, le G5 Sahel a offert une ambulance \u00e9quip\u00e9e au minist\u00e8re tchadien de la Sant\u00e9 publique. La Directrice G\u00e9n\u00e9rale adjointe du minist\u00e8re de l\u2019\u00e9conomie, de la planification du d\u00e9veloppement et de la coop\u00e9ration internationale recevant les cl\u00e9s de mains de l\u2019assistante de la repr\u00e9sentante du HCR Monteve cchi Roberta, a remerci\u00e9 le donateur pour cet appui.<\/p>\n
