{"id":19179,"date":"2021-12-09T08:10:31","date_gmt":"2021-12-09T08:10:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ndarason.com\/?p=19179"},"modified":"2021-12-09T08:10:31","modified_gmt":"2021-12-09T08:10:31","slug":"unconfirmed-reports-say-kidnappers-have-set-a-50-million-naira-ransom-for-release-of-amar-monarch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ndarason.com\/en\/unconfirmed-reports-say-kidnappers-have-set-a-50-million-naira-ransom-for-release-of-amar-monarch\/","title":{"rendered":"Gunmen storm palace and kidnap Amar village monarch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the early hours of Monday, December 6, unknown gunmen kidnapped Alhaji Abdulkadir Suleiman, the district head of Amar village in Karim Lamido, a local government area of Taraba State.<\/p>\n<p>RNI reporter Muhammad Ali Umar said the snatchers stormed the monarch\u2019s palace at about 1am on Monday and took him away while everybody was asleep.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy superintendent of police\u00a0Usman Abdullahi confirmed the attack saying it happened a week after kidnappers had abducted the monarch\u2019s son and 20 other men and women.<\/p>\n<p>The police officer said most of the women who were kidnapped had been raped by the gunmen.<\/p>\n<p>He said that he had heard that the kidnappers had contacted the monarch\u2019s family and were demanding a ransom of 50 million naira for his release. Negotiations were ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>It was not known if the kidnappers had asked for a ransom for the release of Suleiman\u2019s son and the 20 others kidnapped.<\/p>\n<p>Abdullahi said kidnappings had become common occurrences in Karim Lamido which is between the border of the Taraba and Plateau states in northeastern Nigeria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the early hours of Monday, December 6, unknown gunmen kidnapped Alhaji Abdulkadir Suleiman, the district head of Amar village in Karim Lamido, a local government area of Taraba State.
