Many of the farmers had not even bothered to plant anything this year because they knew the elephants would flatten everything.<\/p>\n<p>Modu Mamman Tar, a farmer in Rann, said: \u201cEvery year the elephants invade our land and destroy everything. They have been coming here for at least four years and every year we make a loss because of them. We have complained to the authorities. Security officials have told us we may not shoot or harm them.
