{"id":53411,"date":"2025-03-26T11:19:37","date_gmt":"2025-03-26T10:19:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ndarason.com\/en\/?p=53411"},"modified":"2025-03-26T11:19:37","modified_gmt":"2025-03-26T10:19:37","slug":"four-die-four-wounded-in-ied-blast-in-borno-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ndarason.com\/en\/four-die-four-wounded-in-ied-blast-in-borno-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Four die, four wounded in IED blast in Borno State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Four instantly killed and four others wounded in a massive improvised explosive device blast on the Kimba-Biu road in Borno State.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Four people have died and four others were wounded in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in the Biu Local Government Area of Borno State in Nigeria\u2019s northeast.<\/p>\n<p>The explosion occurred about 2.30pm on Wednesday, March 19, at the Sabon Garin, Kimba junction.<\/p>\n<p>Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, said there was a \u201cmassive explosion\u201d as the commercial vehicle in which the eight were travelling drove over a hidden IED.<\/p>\n<p>Four people died instantly; four others were wounded and taken to the General Hospital Biu for attention.<\/p>\n<p>Medical personnel said the bodies of the dead people were handed over to relatives for burial.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities accused fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) of planting the IED.
