About 2 months now that Nigerians have been experiencing high cost in living which was triggered by hike in food items, fuel pump price, COVID-19, insecurity and electricity tariff.
With regards to the hike in food price, many farmers were killed by Boko Haram insurgents which has threatened food security in the country.
The fear of attack means most people cannot access their farmlands like before.
Radio Ndarason International reporter in Maiduguri visited Muna market the biggest foodstuff market in Maiduguri to observe the situation as the price of foodstuffs gradually starts dropping.
According to traders, the prices of food items like maize, millet, beans has dropped, but for rice, the price remains the same.
Another trader, who sells beans and is also an IDP, said that last week a plate of beans cost 350 naira and now costs 300 naira, and a bag of beans which was sold at 10,000 naira now sell at 8,000 naira.
Modu Tela is a buyers who expressed happiness over the recent developments adding that he is optimistic that the prices will crash soon.
