Brief – Suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents burnt down a primary healthcare clinic, two classrooms and shot and wounded a man in Damboa in Borno State at about midnight on Tuesday, April 5.
A resident told RNI reporter Fanna Usman that the insurgents came by foot at about 12am, shooting haphazardly.
“We were leaving the Litari Tamsuwa healthcare clinic when we saw them. They set fire to the clinic, burning medicine, equipment, mats and mobile phones. A man was wounded by gunshot. After destroying the clinic they went to the Technical College of Damboa, where they burnt two classrooms.”
He said: “We were sleeping when the insurgents arrived. We ran into a cemetery to hide. Authorities need to help us. We cannot carry on living like this, always waiting for the next attack.” –
