Brief – A policeman was killed and two civilians were wounded on Monday, November 7, when insurgents stormed Magumeri town at about 12.30am.
The insurgents were thought to be members of the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’way Wa’l-Jihād (JAS), better known as Boko Haram.
Residents of Magumeri in the local government area of the same name in Borno State told RNI reporter Mustapha Abubakar that the insurgents entered the town on foot. They killed a policeman, burnt down his house, and wounded two civilians. They also stole a car.
They said the insurgents did not stay in the town for long. A few insurgents got into the stolen car and drove away and the others ran when confronted by security personnel.
