Brief – Two Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members were killed and three others wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated on Saturday, January 15, in Marte in the Dikwa Local Government Area in Borno State.

A source, who asked to remain anonymous, told RNI reporter Rawa Bukar Tela that the device was suspected to have been buried by the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’way Wa’l-Jihād (JAS), more commonly referred to as Boko Haram. It exploded at about 12pm as CJTF members were escorting firewood sellers and farmers to the forest.

He said the wounded were receiving treatment and the dead were buried according to religious rights.
