Brief – One person was wounded when insurgents raided Limanti in the Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State at about 2am on Wednesday, July 13.
Modu Malah, a resident, told RNI reporter Mustapha Abubakar that the attackers, thought to be members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), parked their motorbikes outside the village and entered on foot.
They conducted house-to-house searches, looted shops and stole food, money, phones and women’s earrings, necklaces, gold and silver rings and even some shoes. Malah said the insurgents told residents to give them everything or they would be killed.
He claimed civilian joint task force members ran away when the attackers arrived. This was the third attack on the village. Villagers were terrified and said they urgently needed security. “The insurgents took everything of value, we have nothing left. We are scared,” Malah said.
