Brief – “Many insurgents” were killed in an attack by suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa (ISWAP) on Gwoza town in Borno State on Thursday, January 6.
A military source, who asked to remain anonymous, told RNI Reporter Fatima Grema Modu that the attack started at about 11pm and lasted for three hours.
No residents were harmed but “many insurgents” were killed. One Civilian Joint Task Force member was wounded and was receiving treatment in hospital in Maiduguri. The attack occurred less than 24 hours after the surrender of 121 insurgents.
