Maiduguri, Borno – Thirty vulnerable women have been trained and empowered with livelihood skills under a women empowerment initiative by local NGO, Daimal Community Development Initiative.

As part of the initiative aimed at strengthening women’s economic resilience and promoting self-reliance, the beneficiaries received relevant skills and support to improve their household livelihoods.

Ndarason Radio played a key role in the selection process, with 10 of the 30 participants drawn directly from its listeners through a phone-in program. The live call-in provided an inclusive platform for women from different communities across Maiduguri to participate.

The 10 women selected through Ndarason Radio are:

Organizers said the partnership with Ndarason Radio demonstrates the impact of community media in driving grassroots development and ensuring that empowerment opportunities reach women at the community level.

The initiative, according to Daimal, is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen women’s capacity and create sustainable opportunities for improved livelihoods within their communities.
