After a house-to-house search order given by the Adamawa state governor, Fintiri, Adamawa state police command recovered looted COVID 19 medicines and other goods, including machinery. Our reporter in Adamawa reported that the Adamawa police command has arrested more than 300 suspected looters in the state and they are currently under investigation.
Our reporter also gathered that many people people who have looted the COVID-19 pandemic medicines at different warehouses in Adamawa state have peacefully returned what they looted. He noted that some of them have submitted looted packages to their community leaders while others have thrown it on the streets across the state capital.
Umar Bukar Gaji, said that among the items looted are tractors, grinding machines, and different categories of foodstuff.
Meanwhile, market people in Adamawa are in fear as most of their warehouses were recently broken into and items worth millions of naira stolen. Security operatives in the state are reportedly working hard to ensure that culprits are caught and punished.
Small scale businessmen in Adamawa state whose provisions have been forcefully collected by so-called protesters have called on the Adamawa state government to help them with capital to restart their business and relieve curfew in the state.
One elder, Malam Abubakar, advised youth to stop involving themselves in such practices and to avoid anything that could lead to the absence of peace in their life. “Youth, do not spoil your tomorrow,” he said.
