The Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum has again urged Boko Haram members to surrender . The Governor made this appeal during the Nigerian Army’s release of their fourth list of wanted members, and the launch of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) super camp at the Almajiri camp in Konduga on Wednesday 11 November
“I am still calling on the insurgents that are still in the Bush to stop the killings and destructions, as their innocent lives are your brothers and sisters and the properties were built with the money of your forefathers,” the Governor said.
Muhammed Lawan, a member of CJTF in an interview with RNI reporter Amina Abbagana lauded the Borno State governor and said that he and his colleagues will work day and night for peace to reign in the region.
Another member Bukar Goni said that they urge people to give the CJTF maximum support, to be vigilant and to also report any suspicious act immediately.
During the flag off the State Governor distributed one hundred motorcycles to the members of CJTF in order to enhance their operations in the fight against Boko Haram – especially in the rural areas.
The Nigerian Army, led by the chief of Army Staff General Yusuf Tukur Buratai, have released a list of wanted Boko Haram members, including the two leaders of the divided sect; Abubakar Shekau and Abu Musab al-Barnawi, along with 76 others.
